Where is the best place to stay for day trips in Tuscany?

Florence is a beautiful city with many great places to stay. It’s also in the middle of Tuscany, one of the most popular places to visit in Italy. There are many excellent hotels and B&Bs in Florence, as well as outstanding small towns within driving distance. Some of my favorites include:

Cortona: Cortona is very close to Florence and has some great hotels and B&Bs. It’s also a tiny town with a lot of charm and character. The best way to get there from Florence is by car (it’s about an hour’s drive). Alternatively, you could take the train from Firenze S.M. Novella station (about $10 for 6 hours). If you don’t have a car or are short on time, stay in Cortona.

How many days do you need in Tuscany, Italy?

Depending on what part of Tuscany you’re visiting, I recommend spending about 3-4 days. You should have time to visit both Florence and a few surrounding towns. Stay in Florence for at least 1-2 nights to get the most out of your trip. Then, depending on how much time you have, you can travel to nearby towns like Siena (1 hour), Lucca (1 hour), or Pisa (45 minutes).

What is the weather like in Tuscany, Italy?

The weather in Tuscany is similar to the rest of Italy – warm and sunny during the summer months and stormy during the spring and autumn seasons. The sun shines year-round so you can enjoy many outdoor activities year-round! The best time to visit Tuscany is between May and September when it’s warmer outside but not too hot. During this time, it will be sunny throughout the day with temperatures.

How do I get around Tuscany?

I recommend renting a car. If you don’t have a car or are short on time, stay in Cortona. This town is about an hour from Florence and central to all the other cities I mentioned. It’s also straightforward to get to Florence by train if you want to visit the town for a few days.

What should I do in Tuscany, Italy?

I recommend visiting Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano, and Siena if you have time. These towns are close enough to see each other on a day trip from Florence. If you have more time, stay in some

of these towns for a few nights and get the whole experience!

Is Tuscany a day trip from Florence?

No. It would take you about 5 hours to get from Florence to Cortona. And then another 1 hour and 30 minutes to get from Cortona to Pisa.

Tuscany is one of the safest places I’ve been, so it’s safe for solo female travelers! Some things differ from other places, so make sure you read up on my tips for traveling alone.

What is the prettiest part of Tuscany?

That’s a tough one, as there are so many beautiful places! I would say that the most beautiful part of Tuscany is the rolling hills, vineyards, and olive trees.

What are the must-sees in Tuscany?

This is another tricky question, as there are many things to see! But you must check out Florence’s Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Duomo (the cathedral). You also really need to go wine tasting! And, if you have time, make sure you check out San Gimignano. It’s a delightful medieval town with lots of shops and restaurants. There’s also a cute little walled city called Volterra, which is very interesting if you have time. The two towns are about an hour apart if you drive or take public transportation.

Is a day trip from Florence to Venice worth it

It depends on what you’re looking for. It is worth it if you want to see Venice for more than just a day. We stayed in Venice for four days, which was the perfect time. If you want to get out of Florence and explore a new place, I recommend staying in Venice too!

How much do hostels cost in Italy?

Hostels can be very expensive in Italy, so booking ahead of time is essential. They are usually around 20-30 euros per night. There are also a lot of private rooms available that cost around 40-50 euros per night. I recommend booking your hostel at least a couple of weeks before your trip, as they fill up quickly! Hostelworld is my go-to place when booking hostels because they have the best selection and prices!

I recommend staying in the city center of Florence. There are many places to stay, so you can pick whatever fits your budget and needs. I stayed at the Hotel Savoy, and it was great! We could catch a bus from this location that took us directly to St. Marks Square every day, which was convenient. The price was also good for Venice, which is usually very expensive compared to other cities in Italy. It’s close to the train station, so it’s easy to get around when traveling in the town or outside of it! I would definitely
